'8chili for surgeons' is a virtual reality platform that can be utilized to record, edit & present live surgical procedures for both students and experienced surgeons. The surgeon wears a HintVR headset with high quality cameras that record everything they see in real life so trainees are able to rewind the procedure, replay it at their own pace, watch x-rays or other media overlays during the procedure. Developing skills, absorbing knowledge, innovating ideas…all come together here in immersive way that's never been before possible.
The challenge is to recognize, understand and validate the existing platform and redesign the application with a better user experience for surgeons and medical institutions. This should enable them to edit surgical videos quickly while providing these educational content at an affordable rate to the residents, healthcare institutions and, students based on yearly or monthly subscription plans.
With enough research on the client's product, video editing softwares, and existing successful online educational platforms, wireframes are created in a way that only necessary options are given to the surgeons to get the desired output while editing the surgical videos on their app. After a few rounds of prototyping with iterative changes to wireframes and layout an interactive prototype is designed.
A web app for surgeons to edit videos after the surgery is recorded on their HintVR headset & transferred to their computer. Surgeons can categorize content according to surgeries performed, create yearly or monthly subscription plans for the residents. They also have access to complete statistics on their earnings, total views on their educational content, subscribers count, etc. on their dashboard.
Residents can browse surgical videos based on the categories, subcategories and surgeons. The content is recommended to the user based on their user search history, interests, and specialty they are currently pursuing.
Surgeons can create lectures and courses, categorise them and add relevant tags that helps residents to filter and find the right content while browsing. The platform helps surgeons to create, continually update their lectures and courses on the go.
Residents get immersive learning experience with the adoption of mixed reality (AR and VR).
Interactive cases allow learners to not only see the operation from different angles but also receive step-by-step instructions.
With the intuitive UX, surgeons can create and edit interactive videos with ease.
Surgeons get the complete statistics of their subscribers, total views and more.
Surgeons can track their earnings, number of subscribers they've gained, how many lectures they've uploaded and more. 8chili puts surgeons at ease with a professional interface for total control over their account stats while fulfilling the requirements of their role as educators.
Surgeons can create step by step recorded guide on how to perform the procedure in great detail. It includes annotations, trajectory planning, image & video overlays like microscopic feed, x-rays and endoscopic feed.
