User research, wireframes, and e-comm website design for govt employees with bulk and group buying deals.
APTS-Ecomm is an E-commerce platform exclusively for government employees to buy products they need at discounted rates. With the Group Buying (also referred to as Social buying) concept, they can form groups with other government employees and purchase products in bulk to get discounts. It expands customer social networks to other customers with similar interests to create a larger group. Plus, there are consumables & department-specific products that are perfect for office use. Considering the current economic scenarios due to the growth of digital buying, COVID-19, APTS aims for a significant change in the consumer buying process, needs, and behaviors forcing retailers to adopt innovative business models.
The current challenge for government employees is that, they spend more time online searching for discounts, comparing alternative retailers & reading the reviews before buying which can take up a lot of their day. Yet they don't have access to bulk purchases or avoid shipping costs on items bought multiple times or at once & has no assurance of warranty or support.
By researching how the incentives work for buying early and by referring their network, wireframes were drawn to show a better way of displaying group-buying prices in the product description page. And made sure the users spend less time online when making decisions before purchasing products from vendors who offer discounts if they purchase bulk orders.
With the introduction of Group buying concept, larger groups allow you to buy products at significant discounts. So an interactive e-commerce prototype is designed with an easy to understand & intuitive group buying feature for the government employees which allow them to buy in bulks and with great discounts while spending less time online.
The home page to helps visitors find the perfect group buying deals right away and also find products by categories or brands with ease. It provides recommended products based on their previous search keywords, all using an intuitive user interface.
Users can find what they need quickly with this layout. The product list is clear and concise, making it easy to navigate through all of the items on group buying deals. The use of search bars & filters helps users to find items without sifting through categories.

Here's a sneak peek of the work done for this project before designing a high-fidelity interactive prototype. I always draw wireframes as they are an essential part of the product development process, allowing you to identify issues earlier on, saving time & money in design and development phases.
